Unless otherwise stated for a specific model, the hats are not waterproof. Brief exposure to light rain or drizzle will not usually damage the hat, but it should not be regarded as a substitute for an umbrella. If the hat gets wet, we recommend reshaping it by hand as soon as possible to restore its original shape – smooth out any creases or dents. To maintain the correct shape, fill the crown of the hat with soft paper and place it on a flat surface. If the hat is heavily soaked, dry it upside down. If the hat has an inner leather band, it must be folded back and left to dry thoroughly at room temperature along with the hat.For everyday dirt, such as dust, the hat can be gently cleaned with a horsehair brush. To refresh the appearance or partially restore the shape, the hat can be lightly steamed – over the steam from a steam iron or kettle, always from a safe distance of at least 30 cm. After steaming, reshape the hat and allow it to dry naturally. Minor localised stains can be removed with a damp cloth, applying it only to the stained area. After cleaning, we recommend reshaping the hat to its original form. In the case of minor greasy stains, a cloth moistened with an organic solvent (e.g. perchloroethylene or trichloroethylene) may be used. Clean only the affected area, gently rub the stain until it disappears, and then reshape the hat to its original form.
